Bikers arrived in town

REVVING motorbike engines and plenty of biking leathers gave Fareham a taste of what's in store this year.

A large group of bikers arrived in town on their impressive machines to get people in the mood for a new show coming to Ferneham Hall.

The bikers, from the New Forest Harley Owners' Group, were in town ahead of the forthcoming show Route 66, which will be rolling in to Ferneham Hall on May 14.

The bikers were also raising sponsorship for their latest challenge which will see bikers Carl Lewis and brothers John and Shane Lee riding the 874 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats in one day on June 21, aiming to raise £3,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Let's hope these wild hogs have purchased their carbon credits.

Assuming they do not stop, and travel for exacly 24 hours, they will need to average 36 miles an hour, This is not feasable as they will need to refuel a few times and have rest and refreshment breaks.
Be surprised if they do it without breaking the law.
Also, is it really wise to invite, and encourage, motorcyclists to travel all that way in that period of time. Hardly good for road safety.

Yawn, Yawn, Yawn, put your hands in your pockets, (no not to have a play) and dig deep, help these guys raise a lot of money for this great charity, instead of objecting and being so boring. Or get off your rear and you go and raise £3,000 in a way you see fit !

Dawn, if you read what mr angry wrote, he is in full support of the lads and is asking 'hulla', to raise the same amount as the lads are aiming to, and not critisise them !
