Soccer team shines as floodlights loom
One of Fareham's largest football teams could be on course to net thousands of pounds to illuminate their brightest stars on the pitch.
Fareham Borough Council is set to pass AFC Portchester a funding award worth £10,000 to power floodlights at the Wicor Recreation Ground.
The club secured funding for improvements to the dugouts and floodlights but needed support to help pay for the cost of providing power to the lights. The council is set to agree to the request at the meeting of the executive on May 12.
